Saddle Fitting

Oddly enough, years ago when Erica worked with her own fitter, prior to embarking on this journey of her own, the fitter was surprised at the education & understand that Erica had. This was later re-affirmed when she suggested saddles to students & the fitter agreed with her assessments.
Erica has seen the value that a well fitting saddle can provide not only to the horse, but also the rider. As a dressage rider, coach & trainer with a keen eye to rider position & equine bio-mechanics, she can see when a saddle is inhibiting a horse or rider, or when a small adjustment can make the world of difference. Her uncharacteristic ability to pin point and discuss minute points and feelings that rider have while seated in their saddles - things riders have never thought of when it comes to their own fit - really takes her fitting appointments to the next level. This eye for detail is also passed on to see how the saddle fits the horse as well. These adjustments and changes can mean big things to each horse & rider pairing! Outside of all of the above, Erica does her very best to work with the saddle(s) that you have. Being an independent saddle fitters means the goal is not to sell you a new saddle; it is to work with what you have to keep you and your horse happy and comfortable. Of course that isn't always possible, so that is when Erica will provide suggestions for saddles that may work. |

Price List
Saddle Fit Evaluation
$130-150
This fitting includes 1 horse, rider and saddle to a maximum of 2 hours time. At the fitting the following things will be discussed & assessed: horse's posture, straightness, condition and safety of your saddle, as well as how well it fits your horse statically. After we will move onto the rider in the saddle & how the saddle fits the pair of you while in motion. You will receive an electronic copy of my notes for your own records.
Additional Saddles $35 each.
*Please have your horses brushed and in the barn with all tack (saddle, bridle, saddle pads, half pads, etc) ready to make the best use of our time together. Please note there is a travel/mileage fee on top of the evaluation fee.

Complete Reflocking

Sometimes the saddle requires a full reflock. This can be required when the panels feel hard and lumpy. Erica will take the saddle home with her, drop the panels, remove all the flocking and replace with new 100% pure wool flocking. The panels will then be stitched back on and the saddle returned to you. There is the option to add a deep cleaning and conditioning to the areas that one is unable to reach when the saddle is intact for $60.

If the saddle requires tree adjustments the saddle will need to go home with Erica as this process requires the panels being dropped for an accurate adjustment*
*Not all saddles can have their trees adjusted, this will be discussed at the initial fitting evaluation.

Blocks

Erica carries a few different sizes and discipline of velcro blocks (thigh, knee & calf). Velcro can be added to your saddle if not already there for an additional $300.
